Blessings on blessings

Hello all! This week definitely had its ups and downs, but I have been doing SO much better!  At the beginning of this week I was having a really hard time.  Long story short, I called my zone leaders crying and later that day at district council they not only gave me a blessing, but they stayed for 2 hours after to have a meeting with me and my comp.  We were able to talk through all of our issues and I quite literally felt a weight off my shoulders.  After the meeting I could finally breathe again!  I literally have the best zone leaders ever and they were SUCH an answer to prayers.  God is so good and He really is mindful of us! At the beginning of this week when I was really struggling, I prayed harder than ever.  I kept asking God why He would inspire my mission president to have me train, to have me train a gringa, and to have me train Hermana J.  One night when I was praying, I received the clearest answer - God knew exactly what was ha...

La lucha es real

Hello everyone! I don´t have a ton of time this week, so I´m sorry if I don´t get to responding to your emails!  I appreciate your letters and will be sure to get to them next week. This week has been HARD.  Surprisingly, training isn´t hard because I know my sector really well and the language is easy by now.  But, my companion is a little harder to get along with than I expected.  I´m sure it will get better, but for this week it has been so hard on me.  Fingers crossed I won´t have to sit on the bathroom floor and cry every day this week :-) This week 1 Nefi 3:7 really helped me out, which says: And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I awill go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no bcommandments unto the children of men, save he shall cprepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them.  Even though it´s hard right now, I know I wasn´t assigned to fai...

Growing Up Calls for Mental Breakdowns

Hello everyone! This week had its ups and downs for sure.  I finished my training and had another baptism!  Some fun lil things I`ve learned from my training: - It is humanly possible to get fat in 12 weeks.  I`ve gone up 2 pant sizes already WOOSH let`s hope I`m not obese by the time my 18 months are up - If the ward pianist finds out you can play piano, they will never show up to sacrament meeting again and you´ll have to play every week :) - It is indeed possible to become partially fluent in a language in 12 weeks.  Shoutout to Dios for the gift of tongues. To get real though, this week was super hard!  I was super sad yesterday  because I killed my companion in the mission :( which means her 18 months are up and she`s going home.  Hna Kohls was my best friend so it was super sad saying goodbye!  On top of that, we got our changes and I found out I`M TRAINING.... a gringa...  Let`s just say, after several panic attack...

Bug Free!

Hello everyone! First of all, I would like to thank all 59 of you who emailed me with concerns about my ear bug.  I was suprised how many of you actually read my emails haha!  As an update, the bug didn´t lay eggs and no other insects have crawled out since then.  God is real haha.   Last pday my comp and I went to Centro Historico in Quito where all the touristy places are.  It was so weird walking around and hearing people speak in English haha.  We took a ton of photos, but unfortunately when I tried to upload them today, the computer deleted everything on my card, so now I have no photos :´)  Shoutout to Ecuador´s technology.  Luckily, my comp had a few on her camera but sadly none of the ones with us in it!  Keep reading your scriptures and praying! Con amor,  Hna Harris
