After the tribulation comes the BAPTISM!

Ima nasha ta cangi!! The past couple days we´ve been stuck in the house, so our day to email got moved to today!  Don´t worry, this time we were in the house for Carnaval, not because the Ecuadorian government was being overthrown :´) This week was NUTS to say the least.  It started off horribly! We have been working super hard but haven´t gotten anything out of it.  We got rejected like usual, yelled at to leave people´s properties, and even laughed at while sharing our testimonies.  On top of that, we have nobody to teach.  Needless to say, we were super discouraged! BUT... a couple days later, we had a MIRACLE!  Long story short, one of the member´s cousin´s was in town from Spain to get married here, and her fiancee (who´s not a member) told her he wanted to get baptized before their wedding this week!  So, we met David and his fiancee Lesli on Thursday, and he got baptized on Saturday!  He already had been attendin...

And then there were 8

Friends and family! This week was honestly the worst, let`s just say I spent 5 days being more sick than I`ve ever felt in my entire life!  And if you know me, you know how often I get sick haha.  And I guess there is some sort of weird thing going on in Otavalo because my zone is down to 8 PEOPLE.  Literally half of my zone has had to go home or is in the hospital for crazy random injuries or health problems that have happened in the past couple weeks???  But don´t fret, I´m already almost back to normal so my zone won`t be going down to 6 haha! This week I was really grateful for the priesthood!  On Sunday I was able to get a blessing from my bishop and it literally worked a miracle.  It made me realize how merciful God is to let men hold His power to bless the lives of everyone else! Hope you all have a great week and remember to look for the tender mercies! Con amor,  Hna Harris Pics: - South America or the Middle East,...

Living my BEST life

Hello hello everyone! This week was another great one in the campo, still absolutely obsessed with my sector!  This sector is definitely a hard one, people are willing to listen to us but it´s either impossible to find them again or they drop us.  Even though the work can be hard sometimes (especially with the language barriers!), I know that I am supposed to be here, and me and Hna Aníbarro really feel like we can baptize here if we have the faith and work hard enough for it! This week´s highlights: - Ate my first CUY (GUINEA PIG)!!!  A member fed us soup with half of the body, and then the other half of the body was served with the rest of the meal!  Actually was really good, but a little hard to eat because of all the little bones! - Got hit on by a 90 year old man with no teeth.  That´s all that needs to be said about that... haha! Keep reading your scriptures and praying!  The gospel really does bring so many blessings and so much happiness. ...

Aquí hay más vacas que personas

Ima shuti ki cangi! To sum up this week: there are more cows in my sector than people, Kichwa is wrecking me, and I´m starting to like weird food!  I am in LOVE with my new area! My new sector here in Otavalo has some new challenges I´ve never faced before!  Basically all of the people we are teaching only speak Kichwa, which is not similar to Spanish at ALL, haha.  We´ve learned how to teach lessons in Kichwa, but the people who speak Kichwa have little to no education, so we have to teach like we´re teaching 5 year old kids!  It´s actually pretty funny, when we teach about the Restoration it´s basically "You kid of God. God love you. God give family. God teaches us. God helps man with old book. God give His word. Pray know truth".  Complete with hand motions and everything haha.  The Gospel really is that simple!  When it all comes down to it, we don´t need to know the complicated things or deep doctrine.  I know that God loves each of H...
