Jesus es mi LUZ (MTC Week 3)

Hola mi familia y mis amigos! It's been another great week here and I am still loving it.  The hardest part is that I want to go out into the "real world" so bad, it kills having BYU being across the street, and the apartment I lived in is right out the window of where I study every day, but only 3.5 more weeks until ECUADOR!!! This week I started reading the Book of Mormon again, but this time focusing on all the times it mentions faith.  It's incredible how much faith Nephi has even during times of hardship.   In 1 Nephi 17:13 it says:  "And I will also be your light in the wilderness; and I will prepare the way before you, if it so be that ye shall keep my commandments; ... and ye shall know that it is by me that ye are led." A common theme throughout the scriptures is wilderness, and we all have our "personal wildernesses" so to speak -- times in our lives where we feel lost and are put in new, difficult situations.  I love that...

MTC Week 2

Hola amigos!! This week was great once again. It's crazy how much spanish we can already speak and we've only been here 2 weeks!  It's been so fun learning a new language but it takes a lot of work, but the gift of tongues is real!  One day Hna Oswald & I were super not motivated because we had so much to memorize in such a small amount of time.  But one of the elders came into the room and was so excited that he had memorized the First Vision!  It made Hna O & I realize that we should be that excited about learning spanish and about the work, so since then we've been super hyped up about everything!  Highlights: - I got sick this week - I got super nauseous at breakfast one morning and let's just say tootie fruities taste better going down than coming up lol.  But I got a priesthood blessing and took some medicine and felt completely 100% better by lunch! - 4 of the elders in my district are going to Barcelona Spain and the rest of us are goi...

MTC Week 1

This week has been a blur.  We've been busy busy busy here at the MTC!  Nonstop gospel and language study really fries the brain.  But it's been so much fun and I've loved every minute, transitioning to missionary life hasn't been hard at all for me!  My companera, Hermana Oswald, is the best and I'm glad I have a comp I get along with really well!  The spanish is already coming along really well and I'm excited to learn more.  I have the most spanish experience out of anyone in mi distrito so I help everyone with their pronunciations and when they don't know what random words are in spanish. Highlights: - Hna Oswald & I are the only hermanas in our district so the first couple days were interesting - the elderes didn't talk to us AT ALL!  So we kinda just did our own thing the first couple days.  It's ok though, now our district is super tight so it's chill. The elders are hilarious and we love them. - I already got my first miss...
