Motherhood, part 2?!

Hello hello everyone,

This week has been quite the ride.  This week we had changes, and we found out the Hermanas we share a ward with and us were going to switch companions!  So, my new comp is Hna Achocalla, the hermana I missed Raul`s baptism with, who is also still in her training.  Which means... (drumroll please) I`m training again so I officially have 2 HIJITAS jaja.  My new comp is the sweetest, cutest latina from Bolivia.  We`ve only had 2 days together now but I already love her so much!

This past transfer has been such a hard time for me for several reasons, and to be honest, for a while there I honestly thought God forgot about me.  I had never felt so alone.  But on Saturday when I got the transfer call saying I`d be getting a new comp, I felt so so relieved, and I felt silly for ever doubting God`s plan for me.  Hna Achocalla has been the biggest answer to prayers... the Lord really is so mindful of us, even if we may not think so at times like I did.
Recently I read in Ether 12, a chapter all about faith in the LdM.  In verse 4 it says:
Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with asurety bhope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which chope cometh of dfaith, maketh an eanchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in fgood works, being led to gglorify God.
I learned that I shouldn´t have ever questioned my companionship or the trials I have been going through.  God always has a purpose for us and always wants the best for us.  I have definitely learned a lot about myself from having been with my old companion, but I am thankful to be with Hna Achocalla now and I know it`s part of the plan to be her companion right now.

I love you all and am so thankful for your love, support, and prayers!

- Hna A and I tried to get our first comp pic, but as usual Elder Rindlisbacher photobombed us jaja
- Christmas lunch at the mission home!
- Got to help one of our mamitas put up her Christmas tree.  Never been happier haha.
- Learned the hard way to never do your laundry when you have a paper cut.  After ringing out my clothes, I looked at my hand and realized my skin completely got ripped off, and since then I`ve had this nasty wound :)
- CRYING. IN. THE. CLUB.  This morning I found this on my agenda, the sweetest note in English from Hna A!  I`m not kidding when I say she`s the sweetest.  I love her SO MUCH

A dog bit me and I´m still upset about it

Good afternoon to everyone except to the dog that bit me :) Ok I´m being dramatic but YES I got bitten (bit? bitten? I´m forgetting english?) by a dog for the first time in my mission.  I was just walking along in the village, minding my own business, the dog was walking by us minding his own business, and then he just comes behind me and bites me in the leg and tries to attack us?!  The audacity.  Don´t fret though, I´m rabies free (so far) but I do have a pretty sweet bruise from it. #blessed Other than that, not much new stuff happened this week.  We got to stop by at Lesli and David´s (our miracle baptism) wedding reception for a minute, found someone to teach, and ate some weird animal parts like usual!  It´s been a good week here in Cotama (other than the dog bite...yes still being dramatic), and I get to go back to the city to QUITO for the day tomorrow for a dentist appointment!!!  Stay tuned to see if the toothac...

Still Here!

Alóóóó! Well, last week was nuts, and this week was even MORE nuts!  One of the hnas we share a ward with got emergency transferred to the coast, and the rest of us still haven`t received our changes.  So, I still don`t know where I`ll be headed this week!  Until we get our changes, I`ve been in a TRIO with Hnas Jeppson and Achocalla, my 2 hijas!  So I`m double-training right now haha. I am really thankful for everyone who sent me supportive emails this week, it really means a lot!  The mission has been crazy, but I have learned a ton here.  I am so thankful God shows us the things we fault so we can learn to become better people. Better said in Ether 12:27-28, which sums it up: 27 And if men come unto me I will show unto them their aweakness. I bgive unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my cgrace is sufficient for all men that dhumble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make eweak...

Temporary Reassignment

Hermana Harris did not know whether or not she would leave for Ecuador on August 19th, because she hadn't gotten her visa.  Today she got reassigned to the West Virginia Charleston Mission while she waits for her visa.  Because of the uncertainty about her travel plans, Hermana Harris along with her district, was allowed to communicate with us all week about their reassignments and changes in travel plans.
