When you have to miss your own baptism...

Buenas tardes mis amiguitos!

This week was wild.  Long story short, me and the Hermanas we share a ward with both had baptisms one night, and a few hours before the baptism, we got a call from our Hermana Leaders that they were having emergency changes.  Which meant, 2 of the 4 of us had to accompany them to the bus terminal far away to drop off one of them and pick up the new comp of the other.  There were a lot of other things that went on too... to say the least, literally not one thing could have gone worse that day!  I was so irritated all day and couldn´t feel the spirit at all.

I had been teaching Raul for a couple months and Hna Kohls and I were the ones that found him, but I didn´t want to make my compa miss the first baptism that she helped with, so I missed it :(  Sad day.  Me and Hna Achocalla (she volunteered to leave because it was more her comp´s baptism than hers too) were sad all night and were praying DURÍSIMO that we could still make part of the baptism.  As soon as we could leave, we took a taxi back to our chapel and got to make it for the last couple minutes of the baptism!  The night wasn´t so bad after all.  As soon as I saw Raul with the biggest smile on his face, the annoyed feelings I had all went away, and I was so happy for the rest of the night!  There really is no better feeling than seeing others choose to accept Christ in their lives.

Love you all!
Hna Harris

Pics:
- Pic I took with Raul before I had to miss his baptism... crying in the club
- Had to document waiting in the terminal for Hna Canales ́ new compa whilst missing our baptisms (as you can tell I´m still not over it)
- Thanksgiving dinner, cinnamon apple waffles from our favorite restaurant in our sector!
- Alexandra´s new house. She´s making her cat wave to say hi to Hna Kohls, my old comp who she misses so much!
- My mom sent Alexandra this advent calendar and she was sooo excited to have something from the States!

A dog bit me and I´m still upset about it

Good afternoon to everyone except to the dog that bit me :) Ok I´m being dramatic but YES I got bitten (bit? bitten? I´m forgetting english?) by a dog for the first time in my mission.  I was just walking along in the village, minding my own business, the dog was walking by us minding his own business, and then he just comes behind me and bites me in the leg and tries to attack us?!  The audacity.  Don´t fret though, I´m rabies free (so far) but I do have a pretty sweet bruise from it. #blessed Other than that, not much new stuff happened this week.  We got to stop by at Lesli and David´s (our miracle baptism) wedding reception for a minute, found someone to teach, and ate some weird animal parts like usual!  It´s been a good week here in Cotama (other than the dog bite...yes still being dramatic), and I get to go back to the city to QUITO for the day tomorrow for a dentist appointment!!!  Stay tuned to see if the toothac...

Still Here!

Alóóóó! Well, last week was nuts, and this week was even MORE nuts!  One of the hnas we share a ward with got emergency transferred to the coast, and the rest of us still haven`t received our changes.  So, I still don`t know where I`ll be headed this week!  Until we get our changes, I`ve been in a TRIO with Hnas Jeppson and Achocalla, my 2 hijas!  So I`m double-training right now haha. I am really thankful for everyone who sent me supportive emails this week, it really means a lot!  The mission has been crazy, but I have learned a ton here.  I am so thankful God shows us the things we fault so we can learn to become better people. Better said in Ether 12:27-28, which sums it up: 27 And if men come unto me I will show unto them their aweakness. I bgive unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my cgrace is sufficient for all men that dhumble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make eweak...

Temporary Reassignment

Hermana Harris did not know whether or not she would leave for Ecuador on August 19th, because she hadn't gotten her visa.  Today she got reassigned to the West Virginia Charleston Mission while she waits for her visa.  Because of the uncertainty about her travel plans, Hermana Harris along with her district, was allowed to communicate with us all week about their reassignments and changes in travel plans.
