New year new me

Hello hello!

Well everyone, it`s 2020 which means this year I come HOME?!  I have 6 months in the mission now and it`s weird to think how fast time has flown by!  This week was an interesting one for sure, not much to say other than that companionship issues spice life up a bit haha.  Sorry to not have much to say this week!  Keep reading your scriptures and praying!

Con amor,
Hna Harris

Pics:
- Started the year off right - contacting in the rain all day!  (Sounds like sarcasm but I promise it`s not haha!)
- My cute llama friends
- This one`s for you Olivia!!!  Before my mission she sent me a pic of swings on the top of a mountain in Quito, and told me I had to go!  We ended up going today.  You can`t see because it`s so high we`re in the clouds, but the swings overlook all of Quito!
- Peppa!  One of the traditions here for New Year is to burn a paper mache thing called a muñeco to symbolize the end of the year.
- Goodbye Peppa, hellooooo 2020!

A dog bit me and I´m still upset about it

Good afternoon to everyone except to the dog that bit me :) Ok I´m being dramatic but YES I got bitten (bit? bitten? I´m forgetting english?) by a dog for the first time in my mission.  I was just walking along in the village, minding my own business, the dog was walking by us minding his own business, and then he just comes behind me and bites me in the leg and tries to attack us?!  The audacity.  Don´t fret though, I´m rabies free (so far) but I do have a pretty sweet bruise from it. #blessed Other than that, not much new stuff happened this week.  We got to stop by at Lesli and David´s (our miracle baptism) wedding reception for a minute, found someone to teach, and ate some weird animal parts like usual!  It´s been a good week here in Cotama (other than the dog bite...yes still being dramatic), and I get to go back to the city to QUITO for the day tomorrow for a dentist appointment!!!  Stay tuned to see if the toothac...

Still Here!

Alóóóó! Well, last week was nuts, and this week was even MORE nuts!  One of the hnas we share a ward with got emergency transferred to the coast, and the rest of us still haven`t received our changes.  So, I still don`t know where I`ll be headed this week!  Until we get our changes, I`ve been in a TRIO with Hnas Jeppson and Achocalla, my 2 hijas!  So I`m double-training right now haha. I am really thankful for everyone who sent me supportive emails this week, it really means a lot!  The mission has been crazy, but I have learned a ton here.  I am so thankful God shows us the things we fault so we can learn to become better people. Better said in Ether 12:27-28, which sums it up: 27 And if men come unto me I will show unto them their aweakness. I bgive unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my cgrace is sufficient for all men that dhumble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make eweak...

Temporary Reassignment

Hermana Harris did not know whether or not she would leave for Ecuador on August 19th, because she hadn't gotten her visa.  Today she got reassigned to the West Virginia Charleston Mission while she waits for her visa.  Because of the uncertainty about her travel plans, Hermana Harris along with her district, was allowed to communicate with us all week about their reassignments and changes in travel plans.
